What Can You Expect to See & Do at the Water Gardens?

The walkways are a feature of their own. Enjoy strolling through shady pathways up and down stairs throughout. The water gardens feature three main pools:

  • Aerated Water Pool
  • Quiet Water Pool
  • Active Water Pool

The Aerated Water Pool is 40 feet below ground level and meant to create “tiles” of spay falling at the same height to make the illusion of watery plains.

The Quiet Water Pool is lined with bald cypress trees and creates a peaceful atmosphere to relax and reflect.

The Active Water Pool is the iconic pool you’ve probably seen in photos. It is featured in film, music videos, and countless tourist pictures. And it lives up to the hype. It’s essentially a 360-degree waterfall you can walk down into. Take your time making your way to the bottom. The effects can be dizzying.

The park also features “The Mountain,” a terraced wall making the gardens feel tucked in from the big city; and “The Stage,” which is facing the only grassy area inside the water gardens.

Tips for Visitors:

  • Swimming and wading are not allowed. This may disappoint kids, so it might be a good idea to prepare them to think of the water as a work of art.
  • If you are planning to visit during a mealtime, it’s a great place for a picnic.
  • There is no parking lot specifically for the Water Gardens. Metered parking is nearby, as well as lots and garages in the downtown area. Go here for more info.
  • The Gardens are located next to the Fort Worth Convention Center. Plan accordingly during large events.
