Why Visit the Log Cabin Village?
The Log Cabin Village is a great little outdoor living history museum that visitors can thoroughly experience in just an hour or two. Located in a park like setting, you’ll go back to frontier times where friendly interpreters are there to show visitors what life was like for the Texas pioneer. They also offer many online extras to enhance the learning experience. More on that below.

What Can You Expect to See & Do at the Museum?
Begin at the General Store, just inside the entrance, where you will purchase admission and get a map of the grounds (with a scavenger hunt for kids on the back.)
There are nine buildings to visit and see what Texas pioneer life was like during the mid to late 1800s, including several log cabins, a blacksmith shop, a schoolhouse, and a grist mill.
Various demonstrations and activities (like candle dipping) are set up for visitors to try their hand at pioneer living.
Some of the interpretive signs have “I Spy” type challenges to look for historical versions of modern items in the furnished rooms.
Before you leave, stop back by the General Store for a treat from the past. Items include old fashioned candy, toys, craft kits, soaps, and more.

There is a park adjacent to Log Cabin Village perfect for a picnic lunch.
Keep the fun going with their collection of Learn From Home activities. These include virtual scavenger hunts, puzzles, arts & crafts, demonstrations, and “Ask a Pioneer” videos.
