What Can You Expect to See and Do at the Bullock Texas History Museum?
The First Floor
The first-floor gallery features Texas’s earliest history, beginning with Indigenous people groups, its first inhabitants. Then, it takes you to the era of exploration with the recovered La Belle ship brought to Texas by French explorer La Salle. Followed by exhibits on the Spanish arrival and Catholic Missions. This floor will take visitors from the beginning of Texas history to Mexican Independence in 1821. The first floor also has a special exhibitions hall with changing exhibits and an IMAX theatre.

The Second Floor
The second-floor gallery picks up the story with Texas as part of Mexico. See exhibits on events of the Texas Revolution. Then learn about Texas agriculture and discover what life was like for enslaved Texans before and after the Civil War. See exhibits on the 1936 Centennial which brought rebranding to Texas as a decision was made to promote Texas as a western state with an identity of rugged individualism. The floor closes with a gallery devoted to Texas Art.
