Why Visit Newman's Castle in Bellville, Texas?

While Texas may not have historical castles dating back to the Middle Ages, what it does have is some of the most fascinating and innovative people in the world. Mike Newman, the brain behind this idea, encourages guests to enter a world of imagination and humor where they can explore the castle on their own.

This field trip is intended to be a fun experience, with a focus on enjoyment rather than education. Kids are welcome to come dressed in costumes if they wish, adding to the whimsical atmosphere of the day.

Storm the Castle

Onward to the castle! You have the freedom to explore the castle at your own pace and leisure. The castle boasts a moat and drawbridge, a courtyard, a great hall, a tower, a chapel, a dungeon, and many more quarters and crevices for you to discover. Take your time and have fun exploring!

Dine in the medieval atmosphere. Lunch is included with your tour. Your bag lunch will include a sandwich made with freshly baked bread, chips, and iced tea. Then, pick up some sweet treats featuring an assortment of freshly baked donuts and cookies.

Tips for Visitors:

  • Throughout the castle, you’ll come across different types of dragons. If you manage to spot 13 of them, you can collect a dragon tattoo (stamp) as an achievement of your fine dragon-hunting skills.
  • Expect to spend about 1.5-2 hours at the castle.
  • You can climb to the very top of the tower, and we do recommend it. The view is beautiful. However, you can’t climb down while someone else is climbing up, so patience or good communication is needed on busy days.
