The “World’s Richest Acre” is located in downtown Kilgore, and it won’t be difficult to spot. Look for all the oil derricks clustered together in a city block. This area was once home to the greatest number of concentrated oil wells in the world. It is now a tiny park. Stop for a look at some of the interesting history. There are picnic tables available if you want to stop for lunch.
