Visitor and Nature Center:
Begin by purchasing admission and picking up a map from the friendly staff at the front desk. The building showcases some local art and nature exhibits, as well as a large lobby area with seating, and a cozy reading room.
The Gardens:
Next, the main attraction is a stroll through the beautiful gardens. Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and fragrant scents of the Longview Arboretum’s lush gardens as you take a peaceful walk through nature. The gardens include paved and stone walkways through flowers, trees, and native plants. Several water features and seating areas can be found throughout the gardens, as well as a large lawn and forested areas.
The Longview Arboretum was named a “Great Texas Public Space” by the Texas chapter of the American Planning Association in 2022. They host many community events throughout the year, such as their concerts in the gardens and seasonal festivals. Go here for more information.
Children's Classrooms:
The nature center also includes two classrooms (one aquatic-themed and one forest-themed) chock full of interesting items for kids to explore. Check their website here for summer programs and classes.
Garden Gift Shop:
Before you leave, stop by the Gifting Tree Gift Shop. Peruse unique gardening items and gifts, some made by local artists. There is also a bee colony viewable through the gift shop window.
