Fruit Ice Cubes | A Fun Activity for All Ages
Sometimes it’s hard to get in those recommended glasses of water every day. In this activity, we will make drinking water more fun and visually appealing by creating tasty works of frozen art.
Making fruit-infused ice cubes with kids is a great way to combine creativity with healthy habits!

Supplies:
- Ice Cube Tray
- Fresh Fruit and/or Herbs
- Cutting Board
- Knife
1. Select Your Fruits and Herbs.
If possible, take your kids to a farmer’s market, fruit stand, or grocery store with you. Spend some time letting the kids choose their favorite fruits and herbs. This can be a fun way to teach them about different flavors and health benefits.

2: Prepare the Ingredients
Wash the fruits thoroughly. Depending on the type of fruit, you may need to slice or cut them into small pieces.

3: Fill the Ice Cube Trays
Now for the fun part. Try different flavor combinations such as strawberry and lime, or watermelon and mint. Place a few pieces of fruit and maybe a leaf or two of herbs in each section of the ice cube tray. Encourage the kids to create colorful combinations!

Step 5: Freeze
Place the trays in the freezer and let them sit for several hours or overnight until fully frozen.

6: Enjoy a Fun and Festive Beverage
After the ice cubes have fully frozen, remove the trays from the freezer. Encourage the kids to pop out the ice cubes and add them to a glass of water, sparkling water, or lemonade and watch as the colors and flavors blend together, making their drink into a work of art.
