Indoor Historical Exhibits

The indoor exhibits walk you through a timeline of events in the forests of Texas, then take you through equipment and jobs involved in the lumber industry as well as products made from this natural resource.

Indoor Imaginative Play Areas

The kid’s area has stations set up for kids to explore. “Timber Town” invites them to play in a little sawmill town. A mini-forest includes vehicles to climb into for play pretend. Wooden trains, building blocks, and a few other open-ended toys are provided in an open and inviting space.

Outdoor Train & Logging Equipment

Find out how the railroad was a crucial part of the success of Texas sawmill towns. You will be able to get a close-up look at the steam engine on the front of the train (even ring the bell) and climb inside the caboose at the back.

Playscape

The outdoor playscape provides a natural setting in a shaded area with several games and activities. Additionally, lawn games are available for check-out.

Nature Trail

The Urban Wildscape Trail is a short and pretty walk through the woods.
