What Can You Expect to See & Do at the Abilene Zoo?
The zoo is divided into nine sections showcasing animals from around the world. Just inside the entrance is Nakuru Lagoon featuring Lesser Flamingos. As you make your way around the zoo you will pass through Wetlands of the Americas, Carribean Cove, Madagascar, Africa, Giraffe Safari, South America, Elm Creek Backyard, and Reptile House.
Interactive activities are offered including feeding stations and Up-Close Tours.
Additionally, there are several activities for kids to enjoy such as a carousel, train ride, gem mining sluice, and play areas.
The quintessential gift shop is at the exit for all your souvenir needs.
Tips for Visitors:
- Concessions are available, as well as picnic areas if you prefer to pack a lunch. They allow outside food and coolers to be brought inside the zoo.
